This site may include photo albums, discussion forums, message boards, etc. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes visible to others. Although access to most photo albums, forums, etc. will generally be restricted to members, you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Registration

Our site's registration form requires you to provide us with some contact information (e.g. name and e-mail address) in order to set up a profile and obtain a member's login. The first name, last name and user name that you enter will be visible to other Group members on your profile. If you prefer not to enter your full surname, you can just enter the first letter. If you do not have an e-mail address or if you do not wish to disclose your e-mail address, you cannot register online but you can ask us to register you manually.

If you enter an e-mail address, we may use this contact information to send you information such as a new password or information such as e-mails that are sent to a group e-mail list. We respect the privacy of e-mail accounts and we will not knowingly pass your details to ANY company or organisation beyond Barnet YHA Local group without your explicit permission.

If you enter an e-mail address, other Group members will be able to send an e-mail message to you via your user profile page on this web site but they will not be able to see your e-mail address unless you reply to them. We also operate a discussion type e-mail list where members may send an e-mail to all other members. After becoming a registered user of our web site, or if you ever change your e-mail address, you may be automatically subscribed to this e-mail list but you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions that are provided in each message.

If you are a Committee member or if your full name and/or phone number and/or email address appear in the group newsletter or on any programme of events, then this information may also be stored on the Group web site, www.barnetyha.org in members' versions of programmes, newsletters, etc. If members' full names, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses appear on the web site, this information will only be in a members' area that requires a login.

Choice/Opt-out

Whether or not you subscribe to the group e-mail list, we may occasionally use your e-mail address to inform you about important group events such as an AGM or other matters such as subscription renewal. If you do not want to be contacted in this way by email, then you do not need to provide an e-mail address when you register, (although you will need to ask us to register you manually, as explained above). If you wish to remove your e-mail address from our database and avoid receiving any e-mail communications from us in the future, you can:

• Send a letter clearly identifying yourself and asking that we remove your details from our database.
